People come to see me because they are in pain and/or feel overwhelmed by emotion. It can seem insurmountable.
If you are feeling physical pain and it is really emotional, then the emotion needs to be listened to and eased. If you are in emotional pain and it is really physical, then finding a different way to move can release the emotional pain. This is a bodymind approach to healing, because the body speaks the truth and when you listen to your body, you become aware of your choices. Awareness leads to real choice. When the mindbody work together, there can be a sense of ease instead of stress.
This is a holistic approach includes energy and spirit in addition to the physical, emotional and intellectual dimensions. When you expand your inner resources to include all, then it becomes more possible to heal. For example, energy is a strong force that can result in pressure, tension and pain. Finding a way for the energy to flow can alleviate the stress.
It’s not about changing who you are, it’s about understanding who you are.
