What is energy? Why is it important to understand and integrate it into your health for wellness?
These were the questions that slowly formed in my mind when I started to work with people as a Rubenfeld Synergist “the dynamic integration of body, mind, emotions and spirit”. The four year program heightened my knowledge and awareness of the inter-relation between physical and emotional bodies and how messages from the mind can influence our health.
However… there was a void.
I’m not sure why people avoid energy talk. perhaps because it is perceived as flakey or hokey or intangible. For a long time it was considered New Age and non scientific, however science now proves energy does exist. I got curious about energy because I would feel a shift in the physical quality of the person when they released a held emotion or physical pattern. So I started to learn about energy and teach about it too! I used Caroline Myss “Anatomy of the Spirit” to guide my earlier courses. I discovered:
Energy is as real as a physical state. Try it out for yourself… put your hand out and touch the chair you’re sitting on. Consider that when you become aware of what energy feels like, it is as real as that chair. Interestingly, everyone has a different sense of it, so one person may feel coolness, another heat, a push or magnetic pull. Stuck energy can feel dense and heavy or ungrounded and airy.
The funny thing is that we talk about energy all the time. “I’ve got lots of energy today! I could run a marathon.” “I’m feeling really low energy and can hardly get out of bed.” Our awareness of energy is in our subconscious. What could happen when it is brought to a level of consciousness? An internal look to increase our energy level instead of another cup of coffee, computer distractions, taking a booster supplement or perhaps a sleeping pill to slow down.
